Join Gino Bernero and the rest of the Confluence Outfitters guide staff on the Lower Klamath River for a multi-day spey fishing camp. Gino's property is located several miles upstream from Klamath Glen boat launch. The camp is situated right on Starwein Riffle, one of the best swing runs on the Lower Klamath. Our guests target chrome bright steelhead just entering the river system mere miles from the saltwater. Our camps begin with a mid-day pickup via jet boat at the Klamath Glen boat ramp. Guest vehicles are stored securely at the nearby RV Park. Our staff welcomes you to camp and you can spend the rest of the day fishing with your guide before returning to camp for a hearty and delicious dinner. Camp is fully set up prior to your arrival - at the minimum please bring your own sleeping bag, pillow, sleeping pad, fishing license, waders, clothing and personal items. We can provide rods/reels/lines if necessary and Spey Camp is a great place to try out some of the latest rods our guides like to use. Guests can choose to focus their experience on instruction or purely on chasing steelhead. With a maximum of 3 guests per guide, each guest receives a high degree of personal attention. The final day of camp ends with a mid-day jet boat ride to the Klamath Glen boat ramp.

These popular camps are perfect for the following anglers:

Beginners: Learn the basics of casting a two handed rod. Learn how to read steelhead water and how to fish it. Learn the terminology of spey casting and understand the gear used. No need to bring gear - we have a mega arsenal of Sage Rods and Rio Lines for you to try out.

Intermediates: Take the next step up in your casting game. Are you just doing the same snap t or double spey over and over again? Time to learn some touch and go casts, refine your sustained anchor casts, and get more proficient with the scandi lines and lighter summer set ups. Bring your rod and get it dialed in with the right line, we have dozens of Rio lines you can demo to balance your set up.

Advanced: We love to cast, and we love help anglers achieve their highest potential in their casting and angling techniques. The advanced angler will enjoy the amazing home water we have right in front of camp, fishing for chrome bright fish a few miles from tidewater. Also explore the classic swing runs that abound on the Lower Klamath Wilderness River, only reached by boat. Demo the newest rods from Sage like the X and the Mod. Have casting "jam sessions" with expert instructors whose passion is spey casting and swinging for chrome bright steelhead all over the Pacific Northwest.

Everyone: All meals, spey rods, reels, spey lines, flies, and elite instruction included. Just bring a sleeping bag and appetite! Our wilderness camp is already set up with comfy tents, cots, and legendary camp chef meals. When not fishing, relax and watch the river go by or nap in the shade. In the evenings, sit by the fire and take in the beautiful coastal sunsets which are followed by superb stargazing in a place where light pollution is far, far away...you will sleep well.

New for 2019!

Licensed Captains Randy Hamann and Brian Kohlman will be rotating through and assisting Gino with the guiding. Dax Messett's schedule is still up in the air but we are hoping to have him involved as well. Extra captains and boats allows us to tailor spey camp better to each guest's individual goals. Whether you need to learn spey casting from the ground up or you're a competent caster and mainly want to be guided into some fish, our guides can accommodate you!
